Internet Speed Test

Test your internet connection speed directly in your browser. Measure ping latency and download speed — no app required.

Results may vary based on server load and network conditions. This test uses Cloudflare endpoints and measures a 5MB download sample.

About This Tool

Test your internet connection speed directly in the browser. Measures download speed, upload speed, and ping (latency). Results are shown in Mbps for throughput and ms for latency. Useful for diagnosing connection issues, verifying ISP speeds, and checking if your connection meets requirements for video conferencing, gaming, or streaming.

How to Use

  1. Click Start Test to begin measuring your connection speed.
  2. Wait for the test to measure download speed, upload speed, and ping.
  3. View your results compared to common speed benchmarks.
  4. Run the test at different times of day to check for speed variations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my speed different from what my ISP advertises?
ISP speeds are 'up to' maximums. Actual speed depends on network congestion, distance from the ISP node, router quality, WiFi interference, and the number of connected devices. Test with ethernet cable for the most accurate reading.
What speeds do I need for different activities?
Basic web browsing: 5 Mbps. HD video streaming: 25 Mbps. 4K streaming: 50 Mbps. Video conferencing (Zoom/Teams): 10 Mbps. Online gaming: 25 Mbps with low ping (<50ms). Remote work: 50+ Mbps recommended.
What is ping/latency?
Ping measures the round-trip time for a data packet to travel to a server and back, in milliseconds. Lower is better: <20ms excellent, 20-50ms good, 50-100ms acceptable, >100ms may cause lag in real-time applications.
Why do results differ between speed test sites?
Speed tests measure the connection to a specific server. Distance to the test server, server load, and routing paths affect results. Test with multiple services and average the results for a more accurate picture.
