Editorial Policy
How we choose, build, test, and maintain the tools on Any-Tools.net.
Last updated: May 6, 2026
Our Editorial Standards
Any-Tools.net is a curated collection of over 550 tools maintained by the same independent operator since 2025. This Editorial Policy describes how we decide which tools to add, how we ensure quality, how we handle accuracy, and how we respond to user feedback. The goal is transparency: you should know how this site is run before relying on it for anything important.
How We Select Tools
Tools are added based on three criteria: (1) demonstrable user demand, evidenced by search trends and direct user requests; (2) feasibility of running entirely in the browser without server-side processing; (3) absence of equally good free alternatives that already serve the use case well. We prioritize tools that solve specific concrete problems — a JPG to PNG converter, a regex tester, a compound interest calculator — over tools that solve vague or general problems.
- User requests received via email are tracked and prioritized by frequency of request.
- Search trend data informs which tools are most likely to be useful to a broader audience.
- Browser-only feasibility is evaluated before any development work begins — if a tool cannot run privately on the client, we generally do not build it.
- We avoid duplicating well-established free tools that already serve their purpose well.
How We Build Tools
Each tool is built using browser-native technologies (Canvas API, WebAssembly, Web Crypto, JavaScript libraries) and tested across modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) before release. We use well-maintained open-source libraries where possible — PDF.js for PDF rendering, FFmpeg.wasm for video conversion, jsPDF for PDF generation, SheetJS for spreadsheet handling, and others — rather than inventing custom implementations. This ensures that the underlying processing is reliable and benefits from the security and accuracy work of the broader open-source community.
- Cross-browser testing on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge before each tool launch.
- Mobile compatibility testing on iOS Safari and Android Chrome.
- Standardized error handling and user feedback for invalid inputs.
- Library version pinning and security updates applied promptly.
Accuracy and Verification
For tools that produce calculations, conversions, or factual results, we verify outputs against authoritative sources. Calculator results are checked against published formulas. Format conversions (e.g., JPG to PNG) are verified against the format specifications. Currency and crypto rates are pulled from reputable sources, with the limitation that they are indicative rather than real-time trading rates. We clearly label informational tools as such and recommend professional consultation for legal, financial, medical, or tax matters.
Important Disclaimer
While we strive for accuracy, the tools on this site are provided for informational and personal use. We do not guarantee that any output is suitable for legal proceedings, regulatory submissions, or other contexts where professional advice is required. For tax calculations, consult a tax professional. For medical or pharmaceutical calculations, consult a licensed practitioner. For legal documents, consult a lawyer.
Privacy as a Design Principle
Privacy is not a policy we apply on top of our tools — it is a structural property of how the site is built. Because all processing happens in your browser, we have no technical capability to see, store, or analyze the files and text you process. This is verifiable: you can open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab while using any tool, and confirm that no upload requests are made. We have intentionally chosen this architecture and continue to choose it for new tools.
Updates and Maintenance
Tools are maintained on an ongoing basis. When browsers update their APIs, libraries we depend on receive security patches, or users report bugs, we update the affected tools. We do not promise specific update frequencies, but in practice the site receives updates multiple times per month. Significant changes to any tool's behavior are announced on the affected tool page.
- Bug reports received via email are typically addressed within 1-2 weeks for critical issues, longer for cosmetic ones.
- Security-relevant updates to underlying libraries are applied as soon as practical after release.
- Translation refinements are pushed continuously based on user feedback.
- New tools are added approximately weekly, with priorities driven by demand.
How to Provide Feedback
We welcome feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and corrections. The most reliable way to reach us is by email at [email protected]. All emails are read; we respond to most within 24-48 hours during Japan business days. For tool errors, please include the tool name, the input you used (if shareable), and what you expected versus what you got. For accuracy concerns, please include a citation to an authoritative source we can verify against.
Conflicts of Interest and Funding
Any-Tools.net is funded entirely by display advertising (Google AdSense) shown on tool pages. We do not accept payment to feature specific tools, nor do we promote third-party products through our tool selection. Tool recommendations within our content (e.g., "for advanced features, consider tool X") are based on the operator's assessment of which third-party tools genuinely serve different needs, not on commercial relationships. We do not currently use affiliate links; if this changes, we will disclose it clearly.
